Incentives and Classroom Vocabulary

One part of my class routine is to give one student from each class I teach a week a vocabulary word to label an object in their classroom. The cards are pink and have written on them like "la puerta" and "el reloj."

This is one of the many incentives in my classroom but this has to be one of my favorites, because of the permanent nature of the label. Once the label is in their regular classroom, it is a constant reminder of the name of that word. Since every grade level gets to take these words back to their classroom, it is also a great repetition of the same words throughout the years.

I also decided to vary the object pronouns in front of the words to expose the students to different words as well.
I also keep a copy of the cards for my classroom. I always review the previous words given before giving out a new word.
I used this template to record the names of the students who have gotten a chance to take the word
