Videos of Conversations in Spanish

As I was browsing some other websites for teaching Spanish in older grades I stumbled across a really fun site run by the the BBC. They have a short course in Spanish meant for travelers going to a Spanish speaking country. The course offers videos that break down common conversations in Spanish with text and pictures.

I really like them because you have to click through each phrase of the conversation. This helps for a teacher who wants to explain each phrase of the conversation.

I envision using one of these short videos to introduce a unit that may be on a related topic. For instance, I could use the restaurant video before teaching a unit on food. We could even practice the conversations as if we were putting on a play.
