Teaching Students Colors in Spanish Part 3: Method

Using Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, I have tried to cover as many ways of learning when teaching Spanish vocabulary. In my past posts about teaching colors I have shown ways to hit most of the different kinds of intelligences. This posts focuses on teaching colors kinesthetically. Each color I taught had a corresponding movement that went with the word:

Rojo- clapping (like putting out fire)
Azul- wave (like water)
Verde- creating a tree top with your arms
Amarillo- shinning sun
Anaranjado- stretching out the word
Morado- eating grapes
Cafe- drinking a cup of coffee
Rosado- smelling a flower
Blanco- cloud in your hands
Negro- covering your eyes (like the lights went out)

I created a video that has a student acting out each of those motions while saying the vocabulary word. The video also gives students a chance to practice saying the colors and identifying the colors of different pictures.
